Zameer's Big Deck

After 8 years Zameer is finally getting his deck. Okay, so I'm totally excited about it too! We 'broke ground' on May 6th and after heavy machinery, grunting, and lots of sweat the guys made great progress. My 'job' was to keep them hydrated and fed, so I clearly had the tougher weekend. Unfortunately, or fortunately (depending on how you look at it), progress will stall for a couple of weekends due to some work commitments and travel (look for an upcoming post on our trip!) but will resume on Memorial Day weekend.

**Just like our other projects, we'll post more pictures soon. But in the mean time, enjoy this lil' gem.**

Baby Ib's Crib

The nursery is coming together, thanks to my very own Handy Manny. We (Queen's we) painted the room a snazzy taupe which adds just the right amount of grey to Johnson County beige and was just the color we wanted. This was a relief considering it was a snap decision after changing my mind after two samples were on the wall and after leaving the hospital with a case of dehydration. Good to know that I can still pick a decent paint color in distress.

The room is painted, the crib is assembled, and the changing table/dresser and rocker/recliner should be arriving any day. We'll throw a few accessories, blinds, valance, and some other surprises up before the baby makes his or her appearance but we're feeling good about our progress.

**We'll post more pictures soon...as in, as soon as it's all done!**

Ch-Ch-Cha-Changes...

Things are a' changin' around here. 2011 has brought many changes and it's only just begun. After much hope, prayer, and scientific intervention we are so excited that our family will be expanding this Summer. Baby Ibrahim, a.k.a. 'Herk, Ponyboy, Chip Bubbleguppie, Baby Ganoush, and Sea Monkey' is due to arrive mid July (July 14th is our official due date). We're not sure yet if we'll be having a boy or girl but either way we know this little baby is so lucky to have such a wonderful extended family, honorary aunts and uncles, and a whole cul-de-sac of friends to play with.
